#PwP Literacy Day Twitter ChatDid you know that Tuesday, September 8, 2015 is International Literacy Day? This year’s theme is Literacy and Sustainable Societies. We can’t think of  a more perfect theme to fit with our fundraiser for Worldreader than that. So we’ve decided to throw a party on Twitter and we’d love for you all to join us.

The Passports With Purpose crew will be joined by team members from Worldreader and some travel blogging friends. We’ll be talking about the importance of books in all our lives and travels, how books help create sustainable societies in the developing world, and also how we can best deliver books where they are needed most. We’ll also be on hand to answer any questions you might have about participating in the annual fundraiser, which will be taking place this year from November 8 until the 18th – just a few short months away.

It’s easy to attend. The party will start at 4 p.m. PST/7 p.m. EST and will last for an hour. Visit our RSVP page and let us know you plan to join in and then be sure to share the news and invite your friends. On the day of the chat, use the hashtag #PwP to follow along.

Our goal in 2015 is to bring digital reading to five libraries in Kenya; the more money we raise, the more e-readers and books we can provide. We hope you’ll pass the news of this chat along to any friends or colleagues who might be interested in participating either as a blogger, a sponsor, or a donor.

And we hope you’ll come to our Twitter chat with a list of your favorite books in hand.
